Registration is open for the Caregiver Routine Reset 2023!
If you are like me you may find yourself a little overwhelmed, stressed or unsure how to go about creating a daily practice or ritual that resets your soul. Add to our already busy lives, we are still in an unsettled time and world. We are told we need to fill our own cups before we can fill others, but there don’t seem to be enough hours in the day, with obligations to work, family, friends, community etc.
Over the years I have tried many different practices to look after myself. Some were fun, and others required too much effort or were not realistic for me to maintain. You can read about one of them in My Journey to Mindfulness, one of my first blog posts. It was during the challenging times with my daughter that I realized I had to develop and dedicate myself to a routine and practice that soothed, comforted and recentred me so I could manage those difficult moments. Developing a personal practice is important, but where does one begin? That’s where the Caregiver Routine Reset 2023 comes in.
This time of year for many is a transition point. We are leaving one year behind and starting another. A perfect time to reset routines. This Reset isn’t about Resolutions, it’s about moving forward into the new year slowly and with intention.
This isn’t about physical activity – this is about introspection. I am sharing practices I use to live more intentionally or soothe my soul when overwhelmed. As I delved a little deeper I discovered these four practices are recommended by professionals and practitioners over and over. So there must be something to them. The fifth in this reset series can incorporate one or all of the others.
If this is something you are interested in, this will be a gentle way for you to explore these practices in a slow and intentional way.
How The Reset will work:
Beginning this Sunday, January 1st, and each Sunday morning in January (5 in total) an email will be sent to registered participants. The email will introduce the theme for the week with a newsletter containing:
- Brief Description of Practice.
- Affirmations to support that Practice.
- Journal Prompts for Reflecting on the Practice.
- Some suggestions on how to incorporate the Practice into your life.
- A simple or fun Activity or Challenge to help you practice the Practice.
- Resources should you wish to explore the Practice topic in more detail.
Depending on the number of registrants, and interest, a private Facebook Group or Messenger Chat can be created to share and connect, or you can simply complete the Reset on your own. There is no timeframe for completion.
The total cost for the Routine Reset is $15 CDN. That’s less than a few cups of coffee or one lunch out! Payment can be made through the Our Sacred Breath account on the Buy Me A Coffee platform. You can access it through this Buy Me A Coffee link or the QR Code below.
Registration will close at 11:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31st.
I am so excited for you to join this journey with me! I have enjoyed gathering the information and hope that the Practices inspire you to pick up one, try something different or reignite a passion to dedicate time and space to take care of yourself. Because you are so worth it!
Disclaimer Note: I am not a doctor or licensed professional or therapist. I am sharing these practices as a caregiver for other caregivers based on my experiences. I also had two caregivers initially review it for interest. While the content is for general informational purposes only, I have attempted to compile it from reliable sources. If you are experiencing physical or emotional distress please reach out to a trusted family member, friend, professional or crisis line.

What a wonderful idea, Yvonne – and so important for all of us caregivers to do and the promise of a new year is such an ideal time. I look forward to registering (later today) and participating.
Take good care!
Thank you so much Ab. Hoping that it is useful for anyone that needs it 🙂
